DAY 1, PART 2--Starting and using HOTKEYNET

Look int the 2box_basic release, and copy the hotkeynet files to your wow dir.

Let's first edit HOTKEYRAID_2box.txt.

ANATOMY OF A HOTKEY CONTROL FILE:

The hotkey control file is divided into several parts.

The first is a couple of functions to actually pop open the wow windows.

The second is a name-list for the windows. Really just an alias list.

The third is your actual raid setup and window repositioning command. Also a close all windows command.

The last is key redirection. This sends keys to all windows at once, when the Scroll Lock key is on!

ALL YOU GOTTA DO IS CHANGE THE STUFF IN GREEN TO YOUR REAL ACCOUNT/PASSWD. DON'T MESS WITH ANYTHING ELSE RIGHT NOW.

When you are finished, save your file, start up hotkey net and hit the load button at the bottom. Find the HOTKEYRAID_2box.txt file and load it.

THE TWO BIGGEST BUTTONS IN MULTIBOXING--Scroll lock and TILDE (pronounced till-duh)

These are the heavy lifters of the multiboxing world.

SCROLL LOCK: This key, when ON, means HOTKEYNET is ON. It will send most keys to all windows. When you are in PVP, you are not allowed to have this on. You must turn it off and control only ONE toon.

WATCH OUT: When scroll lock and hotkeynet are on, your keys won't work right. You can't chat, you can't type in web browsers. Often only a few letters will get in or nothing will work. Turn scroll lock off to use your keyboard normally!

TILDE: The tilde key is the magic-multibox-mouse-click! When you hold the tilde key down and mouse click your wow window, all other wow windows will get a mouse click in the same place on their window!

BUT BEFORE WE START BOXING, LET'S INTRODUCE YOUR PLAYERS TO OUR MULTIBOXING CODE:

You should have already copied the Addons directory to your <WOW install>/Interface subdirectory.

Let's go there now:

Wow/Interface/Addons/SuperMacro

Open the file called SM_Extend.lua

OH CRAP, HOTKEY NET IS ON AND SCROLL LOCK IS ON AND MY KEYS ARE ALL FUNKY AND NOT WORKING, WHAT DO I DO, FURYSWIPES???

Disable scroll lock. Or close hotkey net. Or both. I don't care, but this next bit requires your keyboard to be working, so no hotkeynet.

Folks, this file is where all the toon control magic happens. But you don't have to know how to use it yet!

Change the following lines to your toon names PAY ATTENTION TO QUOTES AND COMMAS--DONT DROP OR ADD ANY:

Save your SM_extend.lua and close it.

Start hotkey net. Hit scroll lock.

Ctrl-Alt-M

Two wow windows will open up with your account and password already filled in.

TILDE CLICK THE LOGIN BUTTON.

NOW TILDE CLICK THE ENTER WORLD BUTTON.

YOU ARE MULTIBOXING MUTHUFUGGA!

Put your mouse in your main window, the guy who is going to tank.

Make your party.

Hit the 0 key.

Hit alt-4 (NOT ALT-F4 LOL U NOOB)

Alt-4 tells all your other toons to follow this guy and focus him. (you may have to click it twice)

Alt-4 is your main group control.

CTRL-4 tells your group to mount up (if you have mounts)

The 2 button attacks a single target. Let's go beat something up.

Hit alt-4 and walk over to a mob. Start hitting 2. If both of your boxes are dps, they will start beating up the same mob.

Now, let's say you suddenly want your second window to tank.

ALL YOU DO IS MOVE YOUR MOUSE INTO ANOTHER WINDOW AND HIT ALT-4. THAT GUY IS NOW THE LEADER, OTHERS WILL ATTACK HIS TARGET. EVERYONE WILL FOLLOW HIM, TOO. NOW THAT IS MAGIC.
