Day 1--PART 1---TWO Freaking BOXES!

Okay, so you've finally decided to take the plunge and try multiboxing. You made the right choice! Multiboxing is the gateway to a world of satisfaction, as you, by yourself, loot those epics off the raid bosses, and create a team of toons that you will quickly grow to love as your own little virtual family. The days of waiting 30 minutes to do the first pull when you've been ready the whole time are OVER!

I will show you ONE WAY to do it. There are many ways to multibox out there. But I'm going to show you how Furyswipes does it. The tools that I use have been stable for YEARS and are not going anywhere. The tricks I've discovered will give you an advantage over anyone trying to do this with a minor forum guide.

The down side is that you will have to play the game my way, until you figure out how best YOU like to do things. Just humor me for a second. You will quickly get up to speed and be able to go back to your favorite techniques.

HOW I PLAY WOW:

I am a key clicker/mouse mover. That means I activate spells with keys and move and turn with the mouse. Moreover, I use the 1-9 keys for most commands, and the F1-F12 keys rarely.

I use shift to select a different set of 1-9 commands on a different button bar.

I use alt to modify the basic 1-9 commands

I use ctrl to modify the basic 1-9 commands.

I use the arrow keys to maneuver my raid as a group.

I use the T key to move my hunters backward before a fight.

The ONLY keys I use elsewhere on the keyboard are WASD for movement, G for decursive cleanse.

I have several letter keys programmed to spread my guys out for fun aesthetic reasons. I'll talk about those in another post.

BUT FOR DAY 1, WE ARE GOING TO CREATE A TWO-BOX SETUP:

The first thing you gotta do is go to https://vanillagaming.org/1121/ and sign up for MORE ACCOUNTS. Hey, they are free, so make as many as you want.

EACH TOON must be on a SEPARATE ACCOUNT.

Do yourself a favor and make all the passwords the same. Often, you'll have to type in passwords manually when an account doesn't quite log in automatically. IT IS A PAIN to have to remember passwords.

Before you do anything else, log in to your accounts, design your toons, and log them into the game world ONCE.

DO NOT MESS WITH HOTKEY NET YET. IF YOU OPENED IT, CLOSE IT.

If you are playing on vanillagaming, also set 15x experience, cause we don't wanna mess about at lowbie levels when we are multiboxing! It's level 60 for us, bro. (You may also consider simply donating to vanillagaming.org to get your level 60 instantly).

To do this, type

.setxprate 15 <enter>

In your toon's wow window.

Then logout and shut your wow windows down.

Go to the downloads page and download the 2-box basic setup.

Copy the Addons subdirectory into your <wow install>/Interface directory.

Copy the other files to your Wow dir.

Now, the tricky part. You have a choice--either you could make the following macros yourself, or copy them pre-made using the WTF dir.

1-key: /script setup()

2-key: /script single()

3-key: /script multi()

shift-3-key: /script interrupt_boss()

4-key: /script if IsControlKeyDown() then cast("<your mount name>") elseif IsAltKeyDown() then follow_assist() else turbo() end

5-key: /script aoe()

8-key: /script rezemall()

0-key: /script partyup()

F5-key: /script smartdrink()

F10-key: /clearfocus ; /script followme()

If you choose to copy them premade:

Back up your WTF dir, because we are going to mess with it.

You can back it up just by selecting it, hitting ctrl-C then ctrl-V (copy then paste)

Now, open up the directory ACCOUNTAME_WTF in the files you downloaded from me.

Now copy the contents of the ACCOUNTNAME_WTF I gave you.

ctrl-a (select all) ctrl-c (copy) or use the right-mouse menu like below.

Now you must go down into your WoW directory. Go into WTF/Account. Then go into the ACCOUNT named dir of your first toon.

PASTE WHAT YOU COPIED. ctrl-v

click the dialogs to overwrite.

You are not done yet.

NOW go down into the VanillaGaming dir (assuming that's your server) and delete the directory named for your toon, and change the ToonName directory to your toon's name.

You now have all macros you need to multibox.

SAD STORY: ALL KEYBINDINGS AND MACRO BUTTON POSITIONS ARE STORED ON THE SERVER. SO YOU GOTTA DO THE FOLLOWING FOR EACH DAMN ACCOUNT.

Bar settings:

Open Interface options, make them like this:

KEYBINDINGS:

Open your keybindings and make the following changes:

Your setup should now look roughly like this:

Now drag your macros down. Type /macro<enter>:

Do this for all your toons.

ONE LAST SUPER CRITICAL THING:

Move your attack button (melee class) or want shoot (caster class) or ranged shoot (hunter) to the button above the = sign button!

If you don't do this, your melee and hunters won't do crap.
