While using single, my shamans are constantly spamming "enhancement single" and "default water totem."
However while using Multi, my shamans do cast. What have I broken?

Remember, you can always download SM_Extend again and try again.
I think you have enh shammys now, right? Those messages are harmless, just get rid of them.
But are your ehn shaman doing anything? It's not like I cast lightning bolts as enh single. It's a waste of dps.
With multi, you will see lightning.
